The perfect balance of earthy matcha and creamy white chocolate — soft in the center, chewy on the edges, and impossible to stop at just one. These are the matcha cookies you’ll keep coming back to.
🍵 You’ll Need:
Dry Ingredients
- 200 g all-purpose flour
- 7 g premium matcha powder @matchaunion
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp milk powder (optional, for extra chew)
Wet Ingredients
- 115 g butter (room temperature)
- 120 g sugar
- 30 g brown sugar
- 1 egg (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 90 g white chocolate chips
✨ Method:
1️⃣ Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, matcha, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and milk powder. Set aside.
2️⃣ Cream the butter & sugar
In another bowl, cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
3️⃣ Combine
Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until just combined. Fold in white chocolate chips.
4️⃣ Shape
Scoop ~50–60 g of dough per cookie. Roll into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
5️⃣ Bake
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked.
6️⃣ Shape & cool
While still warm, use a round cookie cutter to gently swirl and shape them into perfect circles. Let cool on the tray — they’ll firm up as they rest.
🌿 Optional Add-Ons:
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt for contrast
- Add macadamia nuts for crunch
- Serve warm with a matcha latte for the ultimate pairing
Soft, chewy, earthy-sweet perfection — these matcha cookies are your new go-to for cozy nights, baking therapy, or impressing your matcha-loving friends. 🍵🍪✨
