Jennifer on The Goodroots, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and her journey to wellness.
We sat down with Jennifer, certified Heath coach and founder of @thegoodroots_ to talk all things nutrition, self care, and wellness.
MU: What motivated you to start The Goodroots?
J: I started The Good Roots around six months ago. I struggled with anxiety for many years and through changing my lifestyle and really working on myself and my health I managed to overcome my issues. Last year I started my journey at IIN, which greatly helped grow personally, but it also made me realise that I wanted to help and support other people achieve a better and healthier lifestyle.
MU: What is the mission of The Goodroots?
J: The mission of The good Roots is to share knowledge about nutrition, wellness and mental health. I believe there is a lot of confusion around the food industry and it can be very confusing for most people. The Good Roots is a guide to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle.
MU: When and how did your wellness and nutrition journey begin?
J: I have always been interested in health and wellness. However since I started my journey at IIN I can see how my approach to wellness has changed. I am more in contact with body, which I believe it is the most important thing when it comes to health.
MU: What are your tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
J: I believe in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle you need to take care of your mental health as well. Going to the gym and eating clean won’t be enough. I find for example very soothing and helpful writing a journal every morning or going on a walks. Everyone is different so its up to you finding what works best.
MU: What does your self care routine look like?
J: For me having a routine is extremely important to feel more balance. I start my day with dry- brushing my body and face rolling my face with my favourite serum. After I will prepare my oat milk matcha latte and write my journal.
