Matcha Latte with Honey Cinnamon Plum Compote

Celebrate the arrival of spring with our Plum Compote Matcha Latte, a refreshing drink that combines the health benefits of plums and matcha.

Plums are a valuable source of the polyphenol compound chlorogenic acid, which has been scientifically demonstrated to aid in regulating blood sugar levels and appetite. In addition, they are abundant in dietary fiber, which slows the absorption of natural sugars and contributes to feelings of fullness. Plums also contain a variety of essential vitamins and minerals, such as calcium and vitamin C, that are beneficial for overall health and well-being. 

Pairing plums with matcha is an excellent way to maximize the benefits of both. The chlorogenic acid in plums, which helps regulate blood sugar and appetite, complements the antioxidants and other beneficial compounds in matcha. Additionally, the fiber in plums can help slow the absorption of natural sugars, providing sustained energy.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tsp of MU Premium Matcha Powder
  • 1 cup (240ml) of milk or dairy-free milk
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 plums
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 3 tbsp of water
  • Cinnamon

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Dice the plums into small pieces and put them in a pot.


2. Add a tbsp of honey, 3 tbsp of water, and cinnamon.


3. Place the pot on low heat and simmer it until the plums get soft and thick.


4. Pour the plum compote into a glass and add some ice cubes.


5. Pour the milk of your choice. (We used oat milk here)


6. Top with frothy matcha. To make the frothy matcha, add 1tsp of matcha powder to a bowl, add 1 tbsp of 80°C warm water, and gently massage into a paste using your whisk until no lumps are left. Now add the remaining water and whisk in a zigzag motion until frothy.


7. Stir and time to enjoy!
